The Promises We Make

Last year I promised myself I was going to paint more often and try to be more clear in my direction, but life gets in the way of our plans unless you live in solitude away from the everyday world. I did as much as I could with my eyes looking forward to the new year and the hope things would get better and smoother.

I have come to realize you really just have to stitch together whatever small bits of time you do get and make the best of it.

    1. This piece is fluid acrylic and medium. I covered the paper with gesso first, let it dry completely, drew the tree shapes with charcoal and pencils while adding thin layers of color. I finished with a layer of matte medium before a final coat where I mix gloss and matte together.
There may have been a few oil pastels and colored pencils in there as well. Thanks for asking. I am happy to share.
